Letters
In developing a photographic eye, it helps to shift the WAY you look at the world around you. Instead of being a passive observer, begin to train your eye to be discerning and critical of what you see. In this exercise, we'll try to discover hidden shapes within the natural and manmade world that mimic letters. This project should stretch the way you view compositions as more fortuitous and allow you to take creative control to make them more by design. Some letters are easier than others to see—T's and O's are very common, but more complex letters like S or R can be tricky. Think outside the box, try interesting viewpoints, and even consider coaxing objects towards certain formations. As with regular compositions, consider light and shadows, cropping, and whether your images work better in color or black & white.
Problem Statement:
You will be going on a scavenger hunt for letters and compose the images to create an entire alphabet grid in Photoshop. You will then pick and choose specific letters to create a sign of your name or other chosen word with at least 4 letters.
