Portfolio Design
Problem Statement: utilize the initials of your name to create a graphic design for your portfolio that shows evidence of careful and purposeful planning in regards to font choice, composition, and color selection that reflects your personality and style.
CriteriaIdea Generation
-I researched and "tried on" many different fonts before deciding upon a final. -I developed at least 2 thumbnails to help me pick an effective composition. Design/Organization -I considered many compositional elements including balance, movement, and space. -I used a variety of techniques (flip, rotation, overlapping) to alter my font stencil. Personal Choice-making and Meaning -After considering specific traits of my personality and how fonts can communicate meaning, I selected or created a style that best fit me. -The color scheme I chose reflects elements of who I am and is mixed - not straight from the bottle. Craftsmanship -I considered the entire space of the paper - there are no unplanned empty spaces. -The cutting and tracing of my stencil and painting of my design is clean and even. Studio Skills & Practices -I successfully cut out and traced my stencils and erased pencil lines after I painted. -The correct brushes were used to paint my final design and I took care of them by washing them out thoroughly and storing them bristles up after using them. Reflection/Responding -I participated in the in-progress gallery walk and left constructive criticism for my classmates. -I was able to effectively communicate how my final design communicated elements of my personality. |
